Meeting Minutes - May 2 and 9, 2013

QUESTION:  WHICH NEW ROTARY CLUB IN UTAH WAS AWARDED THE PRESIDENTIAL CITATION FOR THE 2ND YEAR IN A ROW?

ANSWER - ROTARY CLUB OF MILLCREEK

WOW - we were awarded the Presidential Citation at the recent District Conference.   The award is given to clubs that meet requirements in volunteering (local and international), building membership, mentoring, outreach and more.  Pat came to give us the award.  Congratulations to Rotary Club of Millcreek.   We have only been a club for 14 months and have received the award twice.  Rotary Club of Millcreek ROCKS!!!

Attendees:  Laurie Summers, Ladd Tanner, Chris Casper, Linda Book, Judy Zone, Jason Collier, Jenny Ferguson, Susan Marks, Dayna Revetti, and Danny Schoenfeld

Items covered:

  • Read out on District Conference - all those attending had a great time
  • Vocational sharing - our club is focused on getting to know one another.  A big part of this is learning what your members do for professions.    Frank Lilly gave us a great update on his vocation - Salt Lake City Planner.  His presentation was terrific and very thought provoking.  Next time you see Frank, ask him about the "Zion Plat".  Thanks Frank for being one of the first to share your vocation.  If you want to volunteer, reach to Laurie.
  • Discussed our wine to water project - brief update that the project will bring water to Cambodia
  • Discussed our social and volunteering next week.  We are assisting the Westminster Rotaractors in a garage sale to earn money for Nepal.  If you have stuff that you want to donate and you need a pick up, call Courtny at 801.502.3018
  • Plan to join us next Friday for our PIZZA, PRICING, AND PINOT PARTY.  Bring your own drink and anything you want to donate to the garage sale.  Meet at 1369 Westminster Ave at 6pm
