ROTARY CLUB OF MILLCREEK - MEETING NOTES - FEBRUARY 13, 2014


Attendees: Dayna, Frank, Liz, Charles, Laurie, Bill, Frank, Jennifer,Shannon, Danny, Ladd, Ron, Sonja, Andrea, Susan, Miriam - 16 attendees

  • A Century of Service the is a book of Rotary. It was recommended that we read a chapter each month and report back to the club in a short report.
  • For new service ideas the board has asked that we write them up and send them ahead of time for their review.
  • Gina thanked the club for the $110 in Happy Bucks. 
  • We are still looking for volunteers for the Sunnyvale 5:30 to 7:00 for the next several Fridays.
  • Ladd talked about a possible ski social for the club. Details will be forthcoming.
  • There is still an interest in a possible international trip. The club is still discussing a location and time. 
  • Charles and Andrea gave a Rotary highlight about the professional and personal lives.

PROJECTS, FUN SOCIALS AND MEMBER HIGHLIGHTS

MEETING AT CAFE MADRID - 5:30-6:30PM

ATTENDEES:  CHRIS CASPER, STEPHANIE CHARD, CHAS BOYNTON, LINDA BOOK, DANNY SCHOENFELD, LADD TANNER, LAURIE SUMMERS, DAYNA REVETTI, SUSAN MARKS, BILL KILLE, LIZ SHERLOCK, JENNIE FERGUSON, RON STEVENS, MARGARETA VLASIC, JUDY ZONE, MARLIN CLARK, MIRIAM BARTH - 17 MEMBERS

GUEST:  REGAN SUTALO 

CHRIS CASPER AND BILL KILLE GAVE OVERVIEWS OF THEMSELVES AND THEIR CAREERS - It is alway fun to learn about our members.

Group agreed social meetings will be coordinated with volunteer events.  A sign up sheet went around to volunteer to host dinner at your house.

FEBRUARY 28 NOTE THIS IS A FRIDAY NIGHT- LADD TANNER'S HOUSE - 7935 DANISH RIDGE WAY, SLC.  BRING  a $10 donation for refugee socks and boots

MARCH 20 -   CHRIS CASPERS HOUSE - 1060 VISTA VIEW DRIVE, SLC - POTLUCK AND PIZZA.  Bring a kid's incentive to share with the kids at Sunnyvale.  Judy Zone will be sending a list of projects and the list of needed incentive items is in this document

We also reviewed other projects for Sunnyvale - watch for an e-mail from Judy Zone

OUR HAPPY BUCKS FOR THIS MEETING WENT TO MEMBER - GINA COLEMAN, TO ASSIST WITH HER TRIP TO INDIA IN 7 DAYS TO ADOPT A BABY GIRL.  WE COLLECTED $190 - ALL THE BEST AND SAFE TRAVELS GINA.  WE ARE VERY HAPPY FOR YOU!!! 

All RCMC members left with smiles - another fun night of friends, food and facilitating improving the lives of refugee youth in our Millcreek community.
