Four Way Test
Of the things we think, say or do
1.     Is it the TRUTH?
2.     Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3.     Will it build GOOD WILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4.      Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

·        Club of the Year Banner – Kristi Guest – Kristi present Chris Casper with the Club of the Year Banner for her year as president (2016-17) The banner was lost and then found and the past DG, Bev Christy wanted our club to have it for at least a few months.  Chris will bring it to be displayed at Wine into Water event.

·        Wine into Water Updates:

1.      Food Committee – Julie and Jayne – All set on food but need flowers.   Laurie Summers volunteered to do the flowers. It was suggested that we include Fiji water bottles to tie in with water project in Fiji.  Will send out a reminder early next week to those members who have signed up to bring food.

2.      Beverage Committee – Laurie – All set and has received money from some members to help cover the cost of the wine vendors.

3.      Task Committee – Rose – All set.  Has purchased additional utensils that were needed and has everything else covered.

4.      Wine Pull & Opportunity Drawing – Ronda – still does not have enough wine to do the wine pull.  Leaning towards doing 3 wine/gift baskets. Tickets cost to be (2) for $20.00 or (5) for $40.00.  Danny mentioned that attendees that have prepaid for event with a credit card will need to re-swipe the card for donations and opportunity drawing tickets.  Will include a space on the program to write in a bid #.

5.      RSVP – Jayne – We are at approximately 140 guests that have RSVP’d.  As a reminder in order to meet our goal for the event - each member should pay for or try to have 4 people pay to attend.  We need every member to keep working on this.  Email, text or call and invite friends and family!  Post and promote on social media. Club is going to pay to boost post on Facebook.  Deadline is Monday, Sept. 10th!

6.      Promotion and New signage for W2W event – Chris – All signage is redesigned to match. (looks great!)  Joe has a friend who is doing all of our signs at cost.  Thank you, Joe!  Will have a printed program that will include a thank you to all of our sponsors, musicians etc. and a space to write in a bid # for the opportunity drawing.

7.      Logistics for credit cards and Wi-Fi – Danny – he will contact Tracy Aviary to check about the Wi-Fi.  We will need to have Wi-Fi to avoid problems with swiping credit cards.  May want to consider purchasing a wireless hot spot for the club to avoid potential problems.  Will also make sure that everything is set for credit card payments.

8.      Clean up committee – Dave V.  – Need to be sure that members who are bringing food gather and take home their own platters and serving utensils! Need to be completely cleaned up and out of the Aviary no later than 9:00PM!!

·        Committee Updates:

1)      Service – Rose – October service project will be on Saturday, October 6th supporting Sunnyvale with Harmon’s Festival.  Rose[JB1]  will follow up with details.  Need at least 10 volunteers.  Chris thanked everyone for a great hike in August to Ensign Peak.  The kids really enjoyed it!

2018 Wine into Water was a HUGE success!

The Rotary Club of Millcreek's 2018 Wine into Water fundraiser for water projects in an impoverished international community - this year in Fiji - was truly a team effort - as it always is. We should all be very proud of how successful and beautiful the event was.

We also need to thank the Youthlinc volunteers who are truly indispensable to this event. They handle check-in, greeting, cleaning up during the event, working with the caterer, working the water project donation appeal (we raised $4500!), and much of the clean-up afterward.

Tracy Aviary is always great to work with. Please frequent the Aviary, and be sure to say thanks to the staff!

Utah Food Services made this event much more doable in many ways. While we are so grateful to the members who contributed delicious appetizers, having a competent caterer willing to help us at a reduced cost lightens the load on everyone.

If you need a caterer, we would highly recommend. They always do a fantastic job.

While we need a reconciliation from our treasurer, an informed estimate of the gross (based on entrance, water project appeal, and a glance at the opportunity drawing records) would be > $17,000 maybe even > $18,000. Even with that conservative estimate, the event was the best fundraiser ever!

Here are some photos of the evening. Thanks again, everyone who helped, and everyone who attended.
