Art Night with Millcreek Elementary

In lieu of our April 18 Business Meeting, we participated in Art Night with the students of Millcreek Elementary.  We had a splendid time making book marks, fans, and other useful items with this friendly and creative group of kids.

Business Meeting Minutes April 4, 2019


Business Meeting Minutes – April 4, 2019
Members in attendance:  Joe Ballstaedt, Jayne Barnett, Linda Book, Denise Chassé, Ronda Eiting, Julie Jones, Tim Jones, Frank Lily, Susan Marks, Justin Powell, Laurie Summers-Pisani, Erica Wolff, Judy Zone
Visitors in attendance:  Amelia and Chad Clawson
Business items:
1.       Call to order, Four-Way Test
2.       Millcreek Elementary Support
a.       April 18th, 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.  (instead of Business Meeting): Participate in Millcreek Elementary’s Art Festival.  We’ll be helping with craft stations for the kids.  3761 1100 E, Salt Lake City, UT 84106.  Arrive at 4:40 p.m. to help set-up if you can.   Wear your RCMC T-shirts!
b.       Another possible volunteer activity: April 12th, 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., Help set-up for the Scholastic Book Fair.
c.       And yet another volunteer activity:  April 15th-19th, in the morning, at lunchtime and/or after school: Help take Scholastic Book orders.
3.       Committee Updates:
a.       Service – House of Hope – Thursday, April 25th, 5:30 p.m.  Rose sent-out a sign-up sheet for needed items (for donation by us members).
b.       Social – Erica – April 25th after House of Hope service project: meet for dinner at Cucina’s, 1026 E. 2nd Avenue, 7:00 p.m.
c.       Membership – No update
d.       Treasurer – No update.
e.       Youth – Please email or send a text msg to Jayne if you want to attend the Youthlinc Benefit Dinner on May 11th from 6:30-9:00 p.m.  A table for 8 has been reserved.
4.       Additional Opportunities at Volunteers of America – Tim indicated he’s looking into a Saturday in May that we can serve pancakes for breakfast.
5.       District 5420 Conference – Jayne reminded us of the conference, which is May 9-11th in Salt Lake City, UT – Gail Miller will be Keynote speaker - for more info or to register go to www.utahrotary.com
6.       Wine Into Water – No update.
