May 7th, 2015 Business Meeting Minutes

In Attendance:  Linda Book, Erin Brinton, Shephanie Chard, Cesar Diaz, Jennie Ferguson, Susan Marks, Dayna Revetti, Danny Schoenfeld, Mike Siegel, Liz Sherlock, Laurie Summers-Pisani,  Judy Zone, and Shannon Tilly.

Guests: Kyler Turner and Taska Collins, students headed for Peru with Youthlinc. They discussed their service projects, Skyler tutoring 6th graders at the Salt Lake Center for Science Education. Taska volunteers at Northstar Elementary teaching lifeskills.  Justin Powell, teacher, who works with Youthlinc brought them.

Announcements: The District is doing a project at the Jordan River on Thursday May 14th 9 am to noon. Meet at 7800 South and Jordan River.

Cesar Diaz discussed his service project for Mother’s Day. Volunteers need to be in place by 10:45 at Wasatch Elementary School, 30 R Street, SLC.

Jennie Ferguson announced the May 20th cooking class to be held at the City Creek Harmon’s, 6:30 p.m. It is a Thai cooking class, we need 10 people to sign up. BYOB. Also, thanks to Ladd for recent social at his house. It was great. Social committee meeting next week to plan calendar for the rest of the year, contact them if you have something to offer.

Ladd Tanner discussed donations for the assistance of Nepal, sending money to the Katmandu club. He will send a list of donors.

Judy Zone discussed possibly sponsoring a club in Madagascar so Youthlinc can do some projects there.
Laurie Summers discussed Wine into Water, they have 3 sponsors already. People are needed to buy wine. She will send an email mid-June.

Board meeting next Thursday, please contact Frank if you plan to attend.

Liz Sherlock was introduced as new secretary, Dayna is moving to Pennsylvania at the end of the month.

Member updates: Gift to Shannon Tilly who is expecting a baby girl this month. Congratulations to her!
