From our International Service Chair, Justin Powell, during his site visit for our Rotary Global Grant application for water projects in Madagascar:
"Madagascar's humanitarian
issues are heartbreaking! Even in the capital, where I am staying, they
are predicting that within the next few days they will run out of water in the
taps... in the capital! Their rainy season was to start in November, but not a
drop of rain yet.
Nicholas Kristof was here recently and did some pieces
on Madagascar. They have been severely affected by global climate change-
especially because they have very little infrastructure to weather hardship.
This has made working on this water project from our club such a bitter
sweet experience."

2017 Message from our Club President, Christine Casper
Happy New Year Millcreek Rotarians!
As we look to a new year, I wish you
all health, happiness, and adventure. I wish our Club continued success
in our journey for “Service above Self.” For the next six months
of my leadership, I have set goals to:
Attain the President Citation
Drive membership growth
Continue our AWESOME local and international service work
Ensure more members become Paul Harris Fellow and contribute to PolioPlus - Contact Susan Marks with questions.
Ensure all willing members participate on one of our committees - a member of our Board will be reaching out to you if we haven't already.
Pursue a possible not-for-profit foundation for our Club. Paul Halliday, one of our Rotarians, has agreed to meet with the Board to review options.
Have FUN!!
As always, THANK YOU for your commitment to our club, to Rotary, and to service!
