2. Induction of New Members –
Ronda Eiting and Dave Ruprecht. Ronda, sponsored by Susan Marks, joined Rotary
because of her passion for service. Dave, sponsored by Chris Casper, has
volunteered in the past, and is looking for more ways to get involved.

Business
Items:
a. Guest Speaker – Earl
Tilly, The Stove Team (Shannon Tilly’s father). Earl has been a Rotarian for 40
years and is a Paul Harris Fellow. He spoke about a project in Estelli,
Nicaragua. The project helps poor families create income for schools,
healthcare, homes, and educational programs. The Ananza Stove Team built a
factory to manufacture stoves that emit clean energy. He showed slides of the
factory. He asked Rotary of Millcreek support for the project, suggesting an
individual donation of $50. Chris Casper is the contact for anyone wanting to
make a donation. Checks should be made to Families United.
b. Local Service Update – Jennie
Ferguson. Jennie thanked everyone for the support of the Sudanese computer
mentoring project. The Refugee Center still needs computers. We are donating two
and Judy has arranged for 40 additional.
i.
March 30 at 4:15 pm –
read stories from the Kindles we donated to school children at Woodrow Wilson
Community Center. We will take treats. Jennie will send out an email for
members to respond it they can come.
ii.
April 22 Earth Day, 10
am – paint/plant flower boxes and do
other chores as requested at VA nursing home.
iii.
May 13 – support Cesar's Mother’s Day program on
Saturday.
iv.
June – garden work
at Tracy aviary date TBD.
c. International Service Update – Justin
Powell. Justin officially submitted the international grant for a service
project in Madagascar. Justin talked about the scope and impact of the project:
building three wells, three public toilets, and a series of water stations in a
Madagascar village with 3,000-4,000 people who have no close access to water. Our
club donated $7000 (Wine to Water), the District donated 10,000. With Rotary
International, the total is $30,000.
d. Save the Date – Friday, September 8 – Tracy
Aviary for Wine into Water. Judy Zone is the Chair.
