Rotary International (RI) – HQ - Evanston, IL, founded 1905. Paid staff support Rotary Foundation, zones (group of districts), districts (~ 2,000 Rotarians) and ~35,000 clubs and 1.22 million Rotarians in 170 countries. President – Kalyan Banerjee. RI has been driving force behind eradicating polio worldwide with partners. PAIN countries still endemic.

Utah Rotary – District 5420 – began 1911, entire state of Utah - 47 clubs and ~ 1,700 members. Millcreek is newest club. District Governor - Rick Cambra. District Governor-elect - Jerry Summerhays. Volunteer “staff” support clubs through committees - membership, training, PR, foundation/ grants, youth programs, etc.

Upcoming Training & Event

1. PETS – President-elect Training Seminar – Feb 24 – 25, Provo

For Presidents-elect (Megan) and President-elect Nominees (TBD). How to run a club, KEY RI requirements, conduct strategic planning, meet club goals, and support/ resources from District.

2. District Assembly – Saturday, March 24, 7:30 AM – 2 PM, Riverview Jr. High, 751 W. Tripp Lane, Murray (5725 South).

Attendees – all board members, committee chairs, members – president, president-elect, treasurer, secretary AND foundation (grants), international and local service, membership, PR, youth committee chairs, and members. Everyone should attend to learn about Rotary!

3. Ongoing training - webinars & in-person – membership, foundation, more coming

4. District Conference – May 31 - June 1, Zermatt Resort, Midway. PARTY & recognition for clubs.
