New Millcreek Rotary Club
member Denise Chassé was born and raised in Rome, NY (gateway to the Adirondack
park).
Denise styled hair for a
number of years, before a dentist asked her to come work in his front
office. She’s been in the dental
business ever since.
Denise’s passions are
family, food, travel, service and just enjoying life! She volunteers at The Sharing Place, helping
people work through the grieving process.
She enjoys hiking,
bicycling, wine, and making nice dinners for her family. She and her husband, Dave, raised two
daughters together, and recently became empty nesters!
Denise loved helping a
refugee family shop at Goodwill at this year’s Operation Santa, and is looking
forward to serving dinner to the people staying at Hope Lodge soon. Rotary Club is a good fit for Denise!
Dave was born and raised
in Liverpool, New York. He’s one of 8
children, and had a blast growing up in a large family!
Dave started skiing at age
6, and regularly braved single-digit temperatures to ski on 500 vertical feet
of blue ice. His love of skiing would
eventually bring him West.
Dave loves making
turns in powder, and skate-skis between storms.
In the warmer months, he
loves to ride bicycles – road and mountain.
He also enjoys hiking.
Dave
met his wife, Denise, on a blind date.
They were engaged within 6 months, married within 2 years, and have now
been married for nearly 28 years. He and
Denise have two grown girls, their pride and joy!
From
2011 through mid-2016, Dave welcomed and mentored 9 refugee families as a
volunteer with his church.
Dave
enjoys baking bread and enjoying Denise’s awesome cooking. His (and Denise’s) love of wine, bread, and
great food reached an all-time high when he and Denise visited the Tuscany
region of Italy for the first time in 2016!
The
Wine into Water fundraiser combined two of Dave’s (and Denise’s) favorite
things: drinking wine, and helping those less fortunate (win/win!). Dave is looking forward to service with the
wonderful people in this club!
