Millcreek Club part of $39,500 clean water project in Guatemala

The Rotary Club of Millcreek, along with Centerville/Farmington, Vernal, and Roosevelt Rotary Clubs, contributed to fund a Rotary International Global Grant to provide a clean water system to the community of El Suace, Chimaltenango.

The total grant, with all matching funds from RI and our District, totals $39,500. Rotary Club of Millcreek contributed $3,000 from our annual Wine into Water fundraiser.

The grant also supplies funds to train community members in the operation, repair, and maintenance of the water system as well as providing training in hygiene and safe water usage and conservation and a fee-based system for sustainability.

The grant partners with the Rotary Club of Guatemala Oeste, and the NGO People for Guatemala.

Thousands of individuals who did not have a clean water source will have one now because of the generosity of those who attend our Wine into Water fundraiser, Millcreek Rotarians, and other equally caring Rotarians in Utah and Guatemala.

This is the power of Rotary International and The Rotary Foundation!
