Business Meeting Minutes June 14, 2018

• Four Way Test

Of the things we think, say or do 1. Is it the TRUTH? 2. Is it FAIR to all concerned? 3. Will it build GOOD WILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? 4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

• Visitor Introductions - Joe back for a second visit. Originally from Cottonwood Heights just moved back from Idaho. Looking for a rotary club to join. Crystal Orgill – first visit to the club. Was recommended by a good friend who is in the Park City Lunch Club. She is an attorney, lives and works in Salt Lake City. Has been involved in rotary for several years but has never joined a club. Members introduced themselves to the guests and gave club background on rotary.

• Year-End Thank you/Installation Dinner Discussion – Frank – Thank you to members for all their support of his presidency!! Spoke about achieving the presidential citation for the 2nd year in a row!! Wants to be sure that Margareta is included. Will check with her on her availability and confirm a date with the members.

• Finance Update – Danny – Everything is good! Wine into Water site up and running. Will be able to accept American Express cards at this year’s event. Nepal money of $4,800 will be dispersed in July. Thank you to Youthlinc for coordinating. Will be delivered to a rotary club in Nepal.

• Committee Updates

i.                 Service – Rose – 2018/19 nothing planned yet. Planning meeting scheduled for Thursday, June 28, 2018 6:00 pm Rose’s house. She will have hors d’ oeuvres bring a beverage to share. Please come!!

ii.               Social – Frank – Annual hike and picnic at the Spruces, Saturday, July 28th

iii.              Membership – Ronda – Joe back for a second visit. Crystal visiting. Ann Hart finishing up her membership paperwork.

iv.              Foundation – Need a chair person! Judy discussed what the foundation is and what chair person does and encouraged Joe to consider doing it.

v.                Wine into Water – RSVP Committee Update – Dave and Denise

– Judy gave the guest some background about W2W and the purpose for the event. Approx. 220 guests attend – very fun!! Dave gave an update and passed out a hand out (see attached) with information about the requirements of each member, save the date etc. Spoke about strategies to invite people, think about paying for some of the guests you invite. Invite other clubs by visiting them, repeat friends tell other people. Get your email list to Chris by Friday so she can send out the save the date to your list of friends/family or you can forward the email she sends out yourself.
