Rotary Club of Millcreek – Meeting Minutes – June 14, 2012

Attendees:  Chris Casper, Ladd Tanner, Sonia Woodbury, Shannon Tilly, Laurie Summers-Pisani, Margereta Vlasic, Kim Williams, Judy Zone, Linda Book, Bill Kille, John Zone, Ken Klinger, Miriam Kramer

Guests – Patrick Casady (District Guest) and Frank Lilly (potential member)

Agenda: 

Awards – our club was awarded the Changemaker Award (one of several finalists) and then chosen as the Zone Winner.  Way to go RCMC.  We are paving the way for big changes.

Pins and nametags – each member was awarded the Rotary Club pin for 2011/2012 – “Reach Within to Embrace Humanity”.  See Laurie for a pin.

Margereta Vlasic volunteered to create nametags to wear at each meeting to get to know one another better

Business – we need to nominate a President Elect as well as replacements for each officer.  The new roles will be in effect in July of 2013.  The club will have a nomination team.  As a very active club, we nominated and made the following changes:

• Ladd Tanner moved from Youth to International Service
• Shannon Tilley was nominated and confirmed to lead Youth for 2012/13

Dues will be increased $10 for the next quarter to cover the charge for three business meetings a month rather than two.  Watch for the increase on your next statement

Retreat Summary– Laurie gave us a summary of our retreat and new vision.  Future planning meetings will focus on forming committees, timelines and measurements to achieve our goals in 2012/13.

Dash for Donations – Linda Book presented a great project for us to support – Dash for Donations.  Our club can support organ donation.  More information will be presented at an upcoming meeting.  Mark your calendars for a fun run on Saturday, August 11 at 8am at Sugarhouse Park.

Wine to Water – Judy presented a summary of the event and support needed.  Watch for an e-mail from Judy.

Laurie granted official pins to our newest members:  Bill Kille and Shannon Tilly – welcome to our club!

Sergeant at Arms – we collected a lot of happy dollars:  Judy is happy her grandkids are coming to town, Linda is going to Hawaii, Margereta is planning and celebrating her mother’s 90^th birthday in Sweden next week, Laurie is happy we didn’t have a Board Meeting tonight.
