Gerry is Managing Director of Gerry Smith and Associates, L.L.C., Sandy, Utah,providing consulting services to financial services and accounting industries.
Gerry is a CPA with over thirty years of financial services experience including extensive interaction with various regulatory bodies, and several senior level financial services executive positions including serving as President & CEO of multiple organizations (two banks in Utah, two banks in Arizona, two banks in Michigan). He has a diverse banking and financial background, including Certified Public Accountant designation, and is a graduate of Multiple Professional Leadership Programs.
Over twenty five years of financial services experience including extensive interaction with various regulatory bodies, Gerry has led several companies to record levels of growth and profitability.
Gerry holds a B.S.in Business Administration, Accounting major (graduated cum laude), Bowling Green State University, 1980 where he served as Vice President of Beta Alpha Psi (honorary accounting fraternity) and was the recipient of Michael King Scherzer Memorial Academic Scholarship. He is a graduate of the Ohio School of Banking.
Gerry is active in several professional associations, including the Utah Bankers Association, Utah Society of Certified Public Accountants, Salt Lake City Chamber of Commerce, and the Association for Corporate Growth. He is active in educational and community organizations, has been a member of both Holladay Rotary Club and the Rotary Club of Lehi, where he has served as both a member and Chair of Community Service Committees.
